Site Reliability Engineer in the Data Processing Team
The SRE will manage, enhance and scale a streaming data pipeline, ensuring efficient and reliable IT and data operations.
Job description
This position requires a versatile professional who is adept at managing cloud-native systems and maintaining robust data flows across multiple platforms, with extensive experience in modern No-SQL databases and messaging systems.- Maintain the continuous operation and reliability of the data pipeline.
- Design and implement comprehensive test automation to ensure data quality.
- Monitor, optimise and ensure high availability and performance of cloud infrastructure (own cloud, Google Cloud) including server instances, storage and network components; identify bottlenecks and resolve issues quickly.
- Manage, optimise and scale our distributed technology stack, including SQL and non-SQL databases such as Oracle, Cassandra and MongoDB, and real-time data processing using Kafka, ensuring data consistency and availability. Expertise in at least one of these databases is required.
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards across the platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications and data pipelines.
- Document technical procedures and policies for the operation of IT systems.
- Support and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to enhance data integrity and availability.
Prerequisites and skills
- Data observability tools: Strong experience with data observability tools such as Dynatrace and Grafana to monitor and diagnose data and system health.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in DevOps, SysOps, or DataOps, specifically in cloud environments and real-time data processing systems.
- Cloud Services Expertise: In-depth experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services; understanding of server and network architectures.
- Database Expertise: Experience managing SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB; knowledge of Kafka for real-time data processing.
- Automation and scripting: CI/CD automation skills; any OOP language such as Java and any scripting language is important.
- Security and Networking: Solid understanding of network architecture and data security protocols
- Communication skills: Fluent English and strong communication and collaboration skills

- Certifications: Cloud architecture certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, etc.)
- Disaster Recovery: Experience with data management and analytics platforms.
- Additional Technologies: Familiarity with other real-time processing frameworks and data management systems.

Further information
- Location: Košice (hybrid). Once a month, or once every two months, on-site in Vienna.
- Start date: by agreement
- Type of contract: full-time. Possibility to work only on a Slovak permanent employment contract (no B2B contract allowed).
- Salary: from € 2800 gross per month for this full time position
- Visa sponsorship is only available to applicants living in Slovakia.
